CHICAGO CATHEDRAL TO PUBLISH BOOK ON FRESCO PROJECT
Chicago, IL - The completed frescos and interior iconography of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois, are the subject of a commemorative book, "We Have Seen His Glory: A Monograph on the Frescos at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral," that will be presented during the week of activities celebrating the blessing of the Cathedral frescos on September 26, 2010.
The book is the work of Orthodox priest, iconographer, author, and theologian Very Reverend Dr. Miroslav Simijonovic of Zurich, Switzerland.
The dual-language Serbian and English book is a theological discourse on the Cathedral frescos, mosaics, interior aesthetics, and architecture, that explains the fullness of Orthodox Christian liturgical worship as a dynamic sensory experience.
The keepsake book will be published on high-quality paper, with superior graphic design and binding.
Fr. Dr. Miroslav Simijonovic will present the book on Friday, September 24, 2010, at 6:00 PM in the Cathedral Hall, immediately following Vespers which will be served at 5:00 PM.
