V. REV. STAVROPHOR ZARKO MITROVIC
V. Rev. Stavrophor Zarko Mitrovic fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2011, on the feast of St. Paraskeva of Trnovo, at the age of 77. He was born in Kostunici, in Serbia of parents Mileta and Draga (nee Miletic).
The late Prota Zarko served the St. Archdeacon Stephen parish in Ottawa, in the Diocese of Canada from 1995 until 2002, when he retired.
The Divine Liturgy and Funeral Service was served in our church on Saturday, August 13. Serving were V. Rev. Prvoslav Puric from Toronto, Abbot Vasilije from the Transfiguration Monastery in Milton and the local clergy, Protonamesnik Aleksandar Gujanicic.
Interment took place at the Orthodox cemetery at St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois on Monday, August 15, 2011.
Give rest, O Lord, to thy servant the newly departed Protojerej Zarko in thy Heavenly Kingdom. Amen!
