Patriarch Porfirije offers his Condolences after the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

On the occasion of the catastrophic earthquake that brought pain and suffering to thousands of people, destroying homes, temples and other public buildings, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije expressed his heartfelt condolences on February 7, 2023 to His Holiness Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, His Holiness Patriarch John of Antioch and All the East, the president of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the President of Syria Mr. Bashar al-Assad.

We pray to the Lord to grant a heavenly abode in place of the earthly to all the righteous, and to comfort their relatives, as well as to save the lives of all other people in the area affected by this natural disaster. Today, our prayers are with all the inhabitants of Turkey and Syria, says the statement of condolence that the first hieararch of the Serbian Orthodox Church sent in his own name and in the name of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
