Grays Lake, IL - On the occasion of the feast day of St. Amphilochius of Iconium after which he got monastic name, His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral kyr Amfilohije served with the blessing of competent Bishop Longin, on Tuesday, December 6, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Most Holy Theotokos in the New Gracanica monastery near Chicago, USA, the seat of the Diocese of New Gracanica-Midwestern America.

The Metropolitan was concelebrated by local priests and priests who accompany him in his visit.

After the Holy Liturgy, which was, besided Bishop Longin, were present also monks of the New Gracanica monastery and few faithful people, Bishop Longin blessed the slava cake and wheat in the memory of St. Amphilochius of Iconium.

Metropolitan Amfilohije will as the Bishop-administrator of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central American take part in sessions of the Diocesan council and the Central Church Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America, which will be held from December 8-10 in Chicago, and will be presided by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, who is also the head of the Stauropegial monastery of St. Sava in Libertville near Chicago.
